The Christians who meet at this place believe the following:
1. That Jesus Christ is the Son of God:
a. His birth was divine
b. His life is our example
c. His death was for our sins
d. His resurrection ensures us of eternal life
e. His personal return is to be expected at any moment
2. That the Church is His Body:
a. It has a two-fold purpose: Evangelism (producing Christians), and nurturing (growing Christians)
b. It is to be single-minded (with Christ as head)
c. It is to wholeheartedly avoid three main threats: Apathy, False teaching, and Division
d. It grows in number as people: hear and believe the story of Jesus (Acts 16:30-31; Rom. 10:17), turn away from sin (Acts 2:38; Acts 17:30), confess their faith and their sins (Romans 10:9; I John 1 :9), and are baptized .. Immersed in water (Acts 2:38; Colossians 2:12)
3. The Observance of the Lord’s Supper:
a. Brings us to remember the death of Jesus on the Cross that paid the penalty for our sins.
b. Is a time to examine ourselves, confess our sins and ask forgiveness for them.
c. Is a fellowship with all past, present, and future believers in our unity in Christ.
4. That the Bible is God’s Word and our only Authority:
a. For teaching (II Timothy 3:16-17)
b. For Worship (Exodus 34:14; Acts 2:42; Ephesians 5:18-19)
c. For Living (Matthew 4:4)
5. That Christians are meant to maintain spiritual Good Health through:
a. Diet (guarding our sensual intake and “feeding” on God’s Word)
b. Rest (letting God speak to us in prayer)
c. Exercise (being separate from the world .. being active for our Lord)
6. That we have the Spiritual right to remain free from all conventions,
societies, and Assembles.
With this freedom comes the responsibility of doing all we can to accomplish the task of world evangelization under the guidance of the Elders of the congregation.
