Welcome to Imbler Christian Church!
We've been waiting for you!
We believe that every person who comes into the circle of this special fellowship was sent by God himself. We're eager to know you and we're excited to share the marvelous ways God is working in our church.
History
Celebrating More than 30 Years…
In 1983, elders & pastors at the La Grande First Christian Church and the Elgin Christian Church spotted a glaring need for a church body to serve the Imbler community and the greater Grande Ronde Valley. Their leadership teams sprung to action and quickly began planting seeds for our new congregation-to-be.
Before long, a few families started meeting in the home of Lee and Linda Ralston of Imbler for worship services. Then on February 5, 1984, we held our first Sunday service in the white chapel that we secured at 440 Ruckman Avenue, where we continued to worship for three decades.
In 2010, our congregation began to realize that while beautiful and historic, our tiny church building was no longer able to adequately serve our growing congregation and community. Thus, we embarked on a journey to build a new multi-purpose building on our property (adjacent to our white church) to house our worship services and serve as a hub for community events. Led by our elder team and late pastor Leroy Stolle, we raised funds from several annual church yard sales and through the generosity of our members. God enabled to project to be completed debt-free, and we were able to hold our first service in the new building on Easter Sunday in 2019.
The members of this congregation come from a wide variety of personal, cultural, ethnic, and church backgrounds, but are bound together in love through a committed, unified and common faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We invite you to join us!
Our Mission
It is the mission of the Imbler Christian Church to fulfill the Great Commission by providing a church family and fellowship to people of all ages, backgrounds and nationalities. Our goal is to offer a place where members can worship the Lord, study God’s Word, develop a deep personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and be empowered by the Holy Spirit to discover their God given gifts and purpose.
Further, it is the declaration of this body to encourage and train its members in love so they will be bound together in unity. The goal is to positively impact, nurture, and serve others for Christ and develop five primary areas of relationships:
1. With Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior
2. With family
3. With one another (church family)
4. With the local community of Imbler, La Grande, & surrounding areas
5. With missions in all parts of the world
Service Times
Bible classes are offered each Sunday at 9 A.M., followed by 10 A.M. worship service, which includes singing, praise, prayer, communion, and the presentation of God's word.
