Operation Christmas Child
"The Power of a Simple Gift"
What is Operation Christmas Child?
Operation Christmas Child is a Samaritan's Purse initiative that provides loving gift-filled shoeboxes to needy children in countries around the world. These shoeboxes represent more than goodies for these children--they are discipleship opportunities. Each box includes a copy of a book called "The Greatest Gift," which relays the miraculous story of Christ, and children who receive the boxes are invited to participate in Samaritan Purse's "The Greatest Journey" Bible course.
Imbler Christian Church has been blessed by the Operation Christmas Child ministry for nearly a decade. We initially began by sending a few boxes each year, but in 2016, we held our first church-wide packing party and sent 70 boxes. In November 2019, we reached an all-time church record of 223 boxes!
Several shoebox recipients have even reached out to us over the years. Check out their photos and translated messages below!
"My name is Grace from Namibia, Henties Bay Africa. My daughters received one of your gift boxes and a picture of the people packing. My daughters are very grateful. Praise God for your generosity."
"Hey dear church. My son named Godric received your lovely gift. We are living in India. Thank you."
"Hello. I am Geraldine Romero from The Church the Rock in the city of Altamira, Tamaulipas, Mexico. I want to thank you for the beautiful gift you sent me. I loved my blouse and my Bermuda shorts. God bless you and multiply the [gifts] so that they keep making many children happy like me. Blessings!!!"
Thank you to our 2019 Packing Party Sponsors!
